Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Dakayda Yarber was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Shandee Andrade.
Mrs. Shandee Andrade: Dakayda stands out because of her quiet determination and strong character. While she may not be the loudest voice in the room, she consistently demonstrates diligence and focus in everything she does. She works incredibly hard and maintains outstanding grades through dedication and self-discipline. She is equally committed to her academics and soccer, balancing both with maturity and responsibility. Her drive is evident in the effort she puts forth each day. She leads by example through her strong work ethic, steady consistency, and positive attitude. She shows others that leadership does not have to be loud to be powerful.
School Activities: Soccer and Student Council
Special Awards or Honors: All Conference and All State for soccer, and two Academic letters.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: I like camping and hanging out with family and friends.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: I plan to go continue to play soccer at LCCC and study Radiology.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? The advice I have for younger students is to enjoy your time here at RHS because it will go quickly. Get into a sport or club, have fun and keep your grades up!
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Andrade because she is a good teacher and keeps class interesting and fun!!
3. What makes your school special? What makes RHS special is the friends and community that we have built here. It's always pretty positive and is a good environment for us students to thrive in.
4. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? I would say my role models are my parents because they are hard workers and always support me in my activities in and outside of school. I've learned discipline and kindness due to my parents' teachings.
