Mrs. Kirkland: What a good dude! Declan is the kind of kid you want to take with you on school trips because he knows right from wrong. Declan will square up to anyone he knows is not acting appropriately.
Ms. Yorgason: Declan Hutchison is a dedicated, intelligent, and kind student whose commitment to excellence is evident in all he does. As a state representative for Skills USA and a standout member of the STEM club at RHS, he demonstrates exceptional skill and enthusiasm. Notably, during the state Science Olympiad, Declan designed and built an impressive plane in just two weeks, achieving a top placement with his remarkable creation.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? If anything was easy everyone would do it, as long as you don’t quit, you’ll finish.
2. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? My favorite school activity would be SkillsUSA. The organization has given me the opportunity to be a State Officer and do things that I will remember for the rest of my life. It has allowed me to be a part of something bigger that will positively develop my skill set.
3. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher would probably be Ryan Taylor, he taught me a lot and gave me a lot of advice and knowledge that I will use throughout my life. I really respect him for taking time out of his day to help me with whatever I needed or just to talk.
