Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.

Mrs. Howerton: Dezbah is not only beautiful, inside and out, but she is hardworking, caring, and an all-around wonderful student. She is conscientious and kind towards everyone, which makes her a leader among her peers. Everyone that knows Dezbah, knows she is gold.
Mrs. Andrade: Dezbah stands out as a senior for her academic abilities. She is consistently on time, demonstrating reliability and respect for others' time. Her kindness is evident in every interaction. She actively participates in class discussions, offering thoughtful insights and encouraging others to engage. Above all, she is a dedicated hard worker who approaches every task with determination and a positive attitude. Her presence sets a strong example for others, and she truly embodies what it means to be a leader in the classroom.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? You can do anything you want if you put your mind into it and it’s ok if it’s a slow process because everyone is on the same boat as you.
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? Mr. Taylor, because he was the teacher that believed in me when I struggled on my writing. He also encouraged the students to be a better person and always put the students first in a way of helping them.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? Into Chemistry, because it was fun to learn about the different molecules/structures and also its SCIENCE and also, science RULES!
4. Tell us about your favorite artist (author, musician, actor, etc.) and what makes them special? Soja is my favorite artist who impacted my life in a positive way by listening to him. I listened to him since I was small and still listen to him now. From that it makes my world feel like a better place when I listen to him.
5. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? My role model is my mom. My mom is confident and strong through any situation she pulls through; from that, I’ve learned that I’m strong and independent by seeing and learning from all the things she has pulled through and till this day she is still accomplishing hard things, and that makes me so happy.
6. What makes your school special? What makes Riverton High School special is that everyone is involved whether it's silent or loud. I think that our school makes everyone feel welcome and plus, you get to meet new people which is awesome! I find out everyone is nice as well as the teachers and students, that they truly care and thrive you for the better and I thank Riverton High School for that.
