Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Hunter Saltsgaver was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Tomi Kirkland.
Mrs. Tomi Kirkland: Who's that cute boy with the quick wit, infectious laugh, quirky (but fitting) style and frosted tips?? Why, that's Hunter Saltsgaver! He's the one with lightning-fast foot skills in soccer and a dynamic running game in football. He's also the one who works hard in English class, while belly-laughing with his buddies. If you need your day brightened and your workload lightened – find Hunter; he brings the good time with him! Hunter is also a humble little dude who broke school records during football and, not even a broken collarbone could break his spirit: he showed up for his teammates, cheering them on in his jersey "vest", arm in sling, but attitude on point. Hunter and his vibe will be missed in the halls and on the fields of RHS next year!
School Activities: Football and Soccer
Special Awards or Honors: All state soccer and football. Offensive player of the year for football and Super 25 football.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: I love fishing and going to the lake.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: I want to play soccer at the highest level possible then cut hair/finance.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? Play sports and join as many clubs as possible.
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? Kirkland because she is funny and helps me stay focused in my classes.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? I like government because Mr. McLane makes the class very interesting.
4. Tell us about your favorite artist (author, musician, actor, etc.) and what makes them special? Isiah Rashad because I really like his vibe.
5. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? My grandpa Paul. He is the chilliest and nicest person I have ever met.
6. What makes your school special? I like how nice everyone is to each other and the vibes at sports.
