Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Katelynn Lemley was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Lloyd Meredith.
Mr. Lloyd Meredith: Katelynn is an exceptional student who is willing to go above and beyond to achieve excellence.
School Activities: Cheer, Band, Student Council, NHS
Special Awards or Honors: All-State Cheerleader, lettered in Academics and cheerleading every year.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Dancer at Main Street Dance Studio, lifeguard, pottery, and spending time with friends and family.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: Major in Biology at the University of Wyoming and go to medical school to become a doctor.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? My advice for younger students is to keep pushing for your absolute best in everything you do. You will never be disappointed if you knew you tried your hardest. Also, get involved in school activities because they are so much fun and don’t last forever!
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Roberts. She has always been very kind and easy to talk to. We have a lot in common and her class was always one of my favorites. Chemistry is not an easy subject, but Mrs. Roberts made it seem like a breeze because of how good of a teacher she is. She always encouraged us to keep a growth mindset and continue learning. She has been a big role model for me in high school because one day, I want to be as good at my job as she is.
3. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? My role model is my mom because she is the most hardworking person I know. She is very smart and works so hard to keep my family happy and healthy. She cheers me on when I am succeeding and helps me when I am failing. She is so fun to hang out with and is one of my best friends. Without my mom to look up to, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you, mom!
