Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Kenadi Gadway was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Bronwyn Wright.
Ms. Bronwyn Wright: Kenadi is a delight to be around. She works hard, plays hard, and can win “Name that tune” faster than anyone I have ever seen. She advocates for herself and her needs, and cares deeply about those around her. She pushes herself to be better and speaks up for herself when she doesn’t understand a concept or wants to call something into question for herself and others. She is going to be a leader and an advocate wherever she goes and in whatever she chooses to do. The world needs more people like Kenadi. It is an honor to work with her for her senior year.
Ms. Margaret Murray: Kenadi is a mature, responsible young lady. As her teacher and National Honor Society Advisor, I know that I can always count on Kenadi to take a leadership role. This has made her an invaluable asset when organizing service projects for our school's chapter of the National Honor Society.
Ms. Ciera Roberts: Kenadi has been a leader since sophomore year. She is always willing to help me and her peers. She has been a tutor for my Intro Chemistry class for the last two years and truly works to help the students understand the material.
School Activities: I am a member of the National Honor Society and am currently serving as Secretary of the National Honor Society. I participated in speech and debate during my sophomore year.
Special Awards or Honors: I have lettered in academics for three years straight. I lettered in Speech and Debate my sophomore year for upholding the highest standards of humility, equity, integrity, respect, leadership, and service in the pursuit of excellence. I have also received a certificate for participating as a delegate in the 75th annual Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s 2023 Pilgrimage for Youth program.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: I like to spend time with family and friends, work, and go to church.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: I have been accepted into Casper College where I plan to obtain an associate's degree in Pre-Physical Therapy. I then plan to further my education and pursue my passion to become a Physical Therapist at the University of North Dakota.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? My advice to any younger students would be to find a balance in school. Take every second you have and enjoy it. Also, I learned that it is okay to make mistakes and face challenges. What is important is to learn from your mistakes and not to give up.
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Roberts. She goes above and beyond to support all her students and ensure they have what they need to succeed. She inspires any student to learn and makes the classroom a fun engaging environment. Mrs. Roberts takes the time to understand all of her student's strengths and weaknesses. She has had a big impact on my academic journey, inspiring me to pursue my passions.
3. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? My biggest role models are my parents. My parents have inspired me to follow my dreams ever since I was young, they have supported and shown me what it means to be caring and strong. Their actions and values have influenced me to become the person I am today.
