Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Kendall Vincent was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Tomi Kirkland.
Mrs. Tomi Kirkland: This sweet girl has been a constant source of joy in my classroom and life since the first day of her freshman year. She is very conscientious about getting her classwork and assignments done and done well. However, the best part of having Kendall in your life is her storytelling abilities: she uses wild hand gestures, animated facial expressions and her voice often gets lost in a flurry of giggles! She will be missed.
School Activities: RHS Girls Swim and NHS
Special Awards or Honors: Athletic Letterman, Academic Letterman, Nation Honors Society
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and working out.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: Attend CWC and get a degree in Elementary Education.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? Take advantage of all the opportunities that high school has for you and work your hardest, you’ll never be able to go back!
2. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? I enjoy having sports performance/ physical education the most. Having this class has taught me lifelong skills and will help me stay healthy the rest of my life.
3. Tell us about your favorite artist (author, musician, actor, etc.) and what makes them special? I enjoy listening to Noah Kahn. His music is very powerful and inspiring.
4. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher was Mr. Taylor. I learned so much from him and I was pushed to become a better student while in his classroom. However, there are so many more teachers at RHS that I have looked up to and enjoyed learning from them.
5. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? My role model is my Grandpa John. I have learned so much from him and his kindness. I’ve always looked up to him and I always will. Papa John has been through a lot and he still perseveres every time.
6. What makes your school special? The people!
