Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Landon Hughes was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Kylie Frazier.
Mrs. Kylie Frazier: I have had the privilege of teaching Landon since his freshman year and have enjoyed watching him grow—not only in leadership, but also in height, which seems to have increased by nearly two feet over the years. Landon carries an optimistic spirit that is truly contagious among his peers. He consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, both in the classroom and in his athletic pursuits on the ice, soccer field, and golf course. Landon is a loyal friend, a respectful young man, and a positive role model to everyone around him.
School Activities: Golf and Soccer
Special Awards or Honors: 3.5 GPA, and I’m an All-State Hockey Player.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Hockey
Student’s Plans After Graduation: I plan to attend college where I can play hockey and study computer engineering.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? Maintain a 3.5 so you can get as much Hathaway as possible.
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? Frazier or McLane, because Frazier always listen to me and helps me through my problems, and McLane who doesn’t treat me like a student, more like a friend and he has a good way of helping me work through problems.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? Golf because the trips are very fun and seeing my game improve feels great.
4. Tell us about your favorite artist (author, musician, actor, etc.) and what makes them special? Drake because he has different kinds of music for whatever mood you are in.
5. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? I would say my grandpa because he is always nice to everyone and treats other so well.
6. What makes your school special? How they allow you to be your own person.
