Mia Pagnoni was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Annette Benn-Thornton.
Mrs. Annette Benn-Thornton: I am writing to enthusiastically nominate Mia Pagnoni for Riverton High School’s Student of the Week. Mia is a remarkable young woman who truly exemplifies the best qualities of our student body through her artistic talent, academic dedication, and compassionate character.
Mia is a true triple threat in musical theatre: an accomplished actor, singer, and dancer with a genuine passion for creating art that impacts her audience through theatre and film. Currently, she is pouring her talents into the iconic role of Wednesday Addams for the upcoming production of The Addams Family musical. Her commitment to this production is a testament to her incredible work ethic, as she expertly balances the rigorous demands of daily rehearsals with her outside dance training and her academic responsibilities.
Despite this demanding schedule, Mia remains an excellent student who maintains a great GPA. She does not let her extracurricular success overshadow her kindness; she is a natural leader and teacher who is caring and compassionate toward everyone she meets. Mia represents the very heart of the Riverton High School community, and she is incredibly deserving of this honor.
Kylie Emerson: Mia is a hard worker and is very active in everything she does. She is very busy with her school activities and dance. No matter how busy she is with her extracurricular activities she has made time for her classroom work also. And she always has a smile on her face!

Special Awards or Honors: Multiple awards from attending state drama and an NHS member.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Dance, Reading, and Painting.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: My plans after graduation are to go to college and major in film production.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? Your freshman year is just as important as your senior year, work hard and live in the moment! Do what YOU want to do, not what everyone else is doing!
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Thornton because she pushes every single student to do their best. She creates an environment for growth, fun, and expression. I cannot put into words how much Mrs. Thornton’s classes have improved me throughout my high school journey.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? My favorite school activity is musical theater. This is because it is it is the perfect mix of fun, challenging, and rewarding.
4. Tell us about your favorite artist (author, musician, actor, etc.) and what makes them special? My favorite actor is Timothée Chalamet because of his immense ambition and dedication to his craft. He is also in some of my favorite movies, including A Complete Unknown and Little Women.
5. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? I find role models within so many people, some of them are peers and some of them are teachers. I admire people who are smart, thoughtful, optimistic, and ambitious. I find that I can take inspiration from many people in my life, and I do!
