Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Nadia Leseberg was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Tomi Kirkland.
Mrs. Tomi Kirkland: This brilliant young lady has a style all her own and she OWNS it! This girl has a quiet presence in the classroom; her big brain shines through in all of her academics. However, where she radiates confidence is on the dance floor. Nadia competitively dances, often coming home with numerous trophies. Nadia appears so unassuming, but she can “bust a move” like nobody’s business! Her quiet poise will be missed in advisory next year!
Special Awards or Honors: 2025 Blue Ribbon Arts Symposium Winner
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Competitive Dancer, creating art, reading, fashion, snowboarding, listening to Billie Eilish, tattooing and driving rally cars.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: Majoring in Astronomy and Minoring in Dance at the University of Wyoming and becoming a Tattoo artist.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? My advice to younger students would be to not worry about what other people think. Self-expression is an important part of the development in your identity. Also, keep up with your homework, it can pile up quick!
2. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? Art is my favorite school subject; I enjoyed all the different mediums. Being creative is definitely one of my strengths that I love showing to others. All art teachers at RHS are really sweet and supportive, which creates a comfortable environment for students to express themselves.
3. Tell us about your favorite artist (author, musician, actor, etc.) and what makes them special? My favorite artist is Billie Eilish. I have been listening to her music ever since I was 11. Without her, high school would’ve been so much harder to get through. I’m inspired by her bold fashion choices. I listen to her every day, collect her albums, and attend her concerts. She is an amazing role model. Her beliefs in equal rights, individuality, and honesty towards mental health really resonate with me.
4. What makes your school special? My school is special because both of my parents attended Riverton High School, just like me. RHS offers all kinds of opportunities, several different sports & clubs, support towards the Hathaway Scholarship, school dances, fun ways to make new friends and the chance to graduate with the same class of people that I’ve known since preschool.
