Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Ryan Cox was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Lloyd Meredith.
Mr. Meredith: Ryan is an exceptional student to have in class always giving 100% effort and zero percent disruptions. He has furthered himself beyond most of the rest of the nominees in how far he has taken himself in his college pursuit of upper-level math classes. He does this while he is a standout athlete for the Riverton Football and Basketball programs. But most of all he gives all students at Riverton High School respect.
Mrs. Kirkand: Ryan is such a good dude. He is kind to other students, respectful to his teachers, and a leader in his sports. Ryan has a great sense of humor which adds a lot of fun to class. He contributes to class discussion and always completes his work thoroughly and efficiently. He works hard in and out of school. Ryan is going to do great things in life!
School Activities: National Honor Society, FCA, Football, Basketball, Track & Field.
Special Awards or Honors: 3A East Lineman of the year, All-State Football, The Initial Homer “Scotty” Scott Outstanding Citizen Award, earning Associates of Science degree from CWC while in high school.
Outside Activities/Hobbies: Baseball, Snowboarding.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: Attend the University of Wyoming to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering
1. What advice do you have for younger students? Take Advantage of every opportunity you are given- The time you have here goes by quickly.
2. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? My favorite school activity has been Football. The game requires consistency and hard work all year round, and I like the challenge it gave me all throughout high school.
3. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? Mike Bostick has been my favorite Professor. I admired the consistency he brought to the classroom every day and I respect the difficult subjects he teaches at CWC.
4. What makes your school special? Riverton High School has given me great opportunities to not only benefit myself, but also encourage my peers. I feel like all of the activities that I participated in not only taught me lifelong lessons, but also gave me the opportunity to lead and share my outlook on life. RHS' option to graduate High School with your Associate's Degree has impacted my life drastically but also gave me the chance to set an example and lead my peers.
