Each week, staff at Riverton High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior towards their peers and their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will present a scholarship of $500 to one of the students nominated! Click here to view all students.
Sheridan Goldsberry was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Francesca Jones.
Ms. Francesca Jones: It is my pleasure to nominate Sheridan Goldsberry as Student of the Week. She consistently demonstrates the qualities that define both academic excellence and strong character.
She approaches her studies with diligence and responsibility, always completing her work thoughtfully. Her commitment to learning is evident in the quality of her assignments and her willingness to ask questions and engage meaningfully in class discussions. She holds herself to high standards and takes pride in doing her very best.
Beyond her academic achievements, what truly sets her apart is her genuine kindness and care of others. She treats everyone with respect and compassion, going out of her way to make others feel included and valued. Whether offering encouragement to a friend or simply greeting others with a warm smile, she creates a positive and welcoming environment wherever she goes.
Our school community is better because of her presence. She represents the very best of what it means to be a student—not just through achievement, but through heart, character, and kindness. For these reasons, she is truly deserving of being recognized as Student of the Week.

1. What advice do you have for younger students? Don't let people judge you for being yourself to a point you shy away. Even if it is not normal. I shied away in my first two years of high school and always felt I was annoying people, and it took a lot out of me. Let their words go, and you will do Great in school.
2. Who is your favorite teacher, and why? I liked all my teachers, but this year, my top 3 are Ms. Murray, Mr. Fallin and Mrs. Jones. I click with them through mutual interests, their interactive ways of teaching and/or the ways they communicate with me.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? I love Speech and Debate because it has given me an outlet to talk and find more people with my interests. I feel like I can be completely myself with the people I attend the meets with and don't feel as weird or "crazy" for my behavior. I also feel I can get my words and advice out for all to hear, and try to make a difference in someone's life. It’s been very rewarding.
4. Who is your role model? What have you learned from them? I have several. My mother is my first. She taught me to see the good in people but also to not let anyone walk on me. She also taught me to work hard to get where I want to go. My dad taught me to keep pursuing my goals and to not let anybody negatively get in my head. Then there is my little sister, Sadie. She has been working hard to teach me how to be confident and try new things. Had it not been for her, I never would have done Speech or found something I loved and was very good at.
Brian Goldsberry and Christene Goldsberry are the proud parents of Sheridan.
