Tylynn McDonald was nominated as the RHS student of the week by Ceira Roberts.
Mrs. Ceira Roberts: I am honored to nominate Tylynn McDonald for Student of the Week. I have had the privilege of coaching Tylynn in golf since she was in 7th grade, and from the very beginning she has been an outstanding student and athlete. Now a senior, Tylynn shines as a leader in the classroom, always encouraging her peers and offering support when it is needed most. She strives for excellence in her academics, which is reflected in her impressive ACT score of above 30 on her first attempt. As her coach, I have seen Tylynn’s dedication and talent firsthand. She possesses remarkable golf skills and is truly a joy to watch compete on the course. Beyond athletics and academics, Tylynn demonstrates determination, positivity, and drive in all that she does. I have no doubt that she will be successful in whatever career path she chooses to pursue.
School Activities: Golf, Volleyball and Basketball Manager, NHS, Student Council, C.A.N.
Special Awards or Honors: Principal Honor Roll, All-State, 4x All-Conference
Outside Activities/Hobbies: I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my favorite people. I don't have a lot of hobbies, but I love seasonal activities, especially decorating for holidays and going to the pumpkin patch.
Student’s Plans After Graduation: I plan to attend the University of Wyoming and get my bachelor's degree in international studies. I hope to then get a joint master's of business administration and law degree.
1. What advice do you have for younger students? Make the most of every moment, be a light, and tell your people you love them.
2. Who is your favorite staff member, and why? Mr. Mills is my favorite staff member because he's vivacious and always interacts with students. I think it's really cool that he stands with the student sections in a sociable way, not in a "babysitting" way.
3. What is your favorite school subject or activity, and why? My favorite school activity is whenever student council hosts a school wide event or has a spirit week because it brings us all together outside of a learning environment and I love seeing the spiritedness of the student body.
4. What makes your school special? To me, our school is special because of the people. I feel like our community is tight and RHS is definitely representative of that. The school as a whole band together in support of community members or works to bring awareness to certain movements when the need arises. I may be partial, but I also feel like our school spirit and colors are amongst the top in the state.
