It was tough sledding for Fremont County Boys at the annual Ron Thon Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Only Landon Rhyne of Wind River, and Siler Hess of Dubois made it to the awards stand.
Rhyne finished third at 126 pounds, suffering just a single loss to eventual champion Breckin Henry of Thunder Basin.

Rhyne opened the tournament on Friday pinning Sam Loyning of Rocky Mountain at 1:08. In his second match he pined Shooter Vigil of Sheridan in almost the same time with a first period fall at 1:18.
Advancing to the semi-finals he was pinned at 2:43 by Henry, sending him to the consolation bracket.
In the consolation round, he met Shoshoni sophomore Brody Shepard and won by pin at 1:52. Then then beat Gabriel Trujillo of Rawlins, pinning him in just 56 seconds before meeting Jeramiah Musbach in the third-place match. He pinned Musbach at 1:44 to earn the bronze medal.

Hess opened with a pair of byes before decisioning Denton Wainscott of Powell 8-5. In the quarterfinals he lost to eventual champion Cort Caitlin of Thunder Basin by technical fall 17-1.
Moving into the consolation bracket, Hess pinned Cheyenne Central’s Cody Witt at 3:27, then decisioned Max Gregory of Lyman 12-8. In the consolation semi-finals he lost by major decision to Tucker Sides of Natrona County 11-2, before pinning Jacob Eaton of Powell in the fifth-place match at 1:55.
Thunder Basin easily won the team title with 245 points, Kelly Walsh was second and Class 3-A Pinedale third.
