(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 (Riverton) Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West.
The agenda includes a Special Services round table discussion with Petrina Murfitt and Cortnee Fabrizius.
The board will also consider an administrative recommendation to accept an $18,750 project grant through the Reimagining and Innovating the Delivery of Education program, which was announced by Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon in 2021 in an effort to “lead Wyoming’s education system into the future,” according to the agenda.
“The RIDE Advisory group’s overarching goal is to help elevate Wyoming primary and secondary education system into a position of national leadership,” the agenda said. “Currently 20 school districts have joined the RIDE initiative.”
Under RIDE, the agenda says Riverton High School has partnered with Central Wyoming College to create “project-based learning opportunities where students can be supported at the high school and post-secondary level to achieve future goals and aspirations.”
There are two other action items on Tuesday’s agenda:
- Consider an administrative recommendation to amend a professional service contract with Plan One Architects for the Jackson Sewer Line and Domestic Water Replacement Project, with Amendment 2 for $11,400 to include $9,500 for civil engineering services plus $1,900 for Plan One oversight and coordination, and Amendment 3 for $1,500 to include redesign of the sanitary sewer service after the City of Riverton discovered there was no sanitary sewer main within West Jackson Avenue
- Consider an administrative recommendation to approve an update to the salary schedule increasing the base rate from $17 to $18 for Classified-Student Support staff, including bus aides, transfer aides and crossing guards, in order to “incentivize current staff coverage in these positions”
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are stored.
