According to data from the National Weather Service office in Riverton, both Riverton and Lander set record low’s Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lander dipped to 34 degrees Tuesday, the previous low was 49 in 1962. Riverton also fell to 34 Monday, destroying their previous low of 57 set in 2001.
Riverton and Lander both respectively had a low temperature of 26 degrees on Wednesday. Riverton’s record low for September 9th was 36 degrees, set in 2001. Lander’s was 29 degrees, set in 1962 and 1903.
The normal low temperature for September 9th is about 47 degrees in both Fremont County communities.
Temperatures are expected to be a bit warmer Wednesday across Wyoming, and climb back into the 70’s and 80’s as we get closer to the weekend.
