Winter weather has impacted travel all across the Cowboy State this week. Currently, the only major Fremont County closures are Lander’s route to Sweetwater Station via US 287/789 and Riverton’s route to Sweetwater Station via WY 139.
The routes were open for a brief time between two winter storms this week, but have been closed for the majority.
As of 8:00 a.m. Friday morning, South Pass does have a Level 1 Chain Law in place, Shoshoni to Casper is slick with reduced visibility, and virtually all Fremont County highways are slick or slick in spots.

Snowfall is expected to continue through Friday and perhaps Saturday in western Fremont County. Temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 30’s Saturday, however.
