(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Raiders recovered from a one-run loss Friday night at Roy Peck Field to stay alive for one more game in the Class B American Legion State Tournament. The Raiders handled Cheyenne 11-4 in an afternoon game, but the season came to an end later in the day with a 17-11 loss to Bridger Valley.

Basyn Anderson drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Riverton Raiders 17U to an 11-4 victory over Cheyenne Post 6 Prep on Sunday.
Anderson hammered a three-run inside-the-park home run in the sixth inning, displaying his 400-meter speed on the Riverton track team. He added a two-run single in the seventh.
The Raiders struck first in the opening inning when Jon Cox singled to score the game’s first run.
Cheyenne Post 6 Prep answered in the bottom of the third, taking a 2-1 lead on an RBI double by Bridger Engels and an RBI single by Braxton Adams.
Riverton regained the lead in the fifth inning when Cox delivered another RBI single to put the Raiders ahead 3-2.
Cheyenne tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the inning after back-to-back Riverton errors.
The difference came in the sixth inning, when Riverton broke the tie for good. Cooper Olson’s RBI single gave the Raiders a 4-3 advantage before Anderson cleared the bases with his inside-the-park home run, stretching the lead to 7-3.
Asher Kintzler earned the start for Riverton, allowing three runs, none earned, on three hits over 5⅔ innings. He struck out one and walked three. Cooper Olson and Corbin Combs each pitched in relief to close out the victory.
The Raiders pounded out 12 hits. Cox, Olson, Anderson, Chase Stockman, and Kintzler each had a pair.

Bridger Valley
Riverton hit the ball well against Bridger Valley, but it wasn’t enough.
Asher Kintzler drove in four runners in the loss.
Bridger Valley took an early lead, but Riverton regained it briefly 4-3 in the top of the third inning when Kintzler tallied a three-run double.
Riverton doubled their lead at 8-4 in the top of the fourth on a Jon Cox single, a pair of walks to Kintzler and Rylan Gambler, and a Cooper Olson single.
The wheels came off the Riverton wagon in the bottom of the fourth. Bridger Valley ripped the Raiders for a dozen runs in the inning on just three hits.
The 16-8 lead was too much to overcome.
Olson, Anderson and Kintzler each had a pair of hits. Carson Trujillo stole two bases, and Cameron Jevne and Gambler each drew three walks.
Bridger Valley played an error-free game while Riverton committed eight errors.
