The Riverton City Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the Council Chambers at Riverton City Hall, 816 N. Federal Blvd.
The agenda includes a report from recipients of the city’s half percent sales tax funding for economic development.
The council will also consider approving the mayor’s recommendation to appoint Rochelle Sheldon to the city’s Evolve, Diversify, and Grow our Economy (EDGE) Committee.
Sheldon’s letter of interest in the position indicates she is a local business owner and a “lifelong resident of Riverton.”
“I am dedicated to the future development and success of our city and am eager to offer my time, skills, and insights,” she wrote.
A public hearing will be held before the council considers a retail liquor license transfer of ownership from Riverton Hotel Development LLC to Safari Timberline Hotels LLC for the Hampton Inn and Suites, 2500 N. Federal Blvd.
The council will also consider approving:
-an agreement with Ardurra Group Inc. for engineering services at Central Wyoming Regional Airport
-an agreement with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality to lease ground for an air monitoring station
There is one resolution on the agenda, adopting a fee schedule for public records requests.
The city currently charges $20 per hour and 25 cents per copy for public records, staff said in a memo, noting that “there is no charge for readily available records, (and) the first hour of staff time for research is waived.”
“Staff is requesting that fees be adopted to reflect current pricing, specific to staff time for research and retrieval of the records,” the memo states. “(We) will provide an estimate of reasonable costs to retrieve the records, which must be paid in advance.”
The council will also consider approving the selection of Flaming Tree Solutions of Riverton as the consulting firm for the city’s 2024 Urban and Community Forestry project.
A memo from staff says the selected consultant will “develop a proactive tree management plan” in Riverton focusing “on areas that are identified by the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool as underserved,” including Riverton City Park, Aspen Park, Monroe Park, Rein Park, the local dog park, and the city owned baseball/softball complex.
“This covers about half of the public spaces in Riverton,” staff said.
An executive session will be held, if needed, before adjournment.
Tuesday’s council meeting will be preceded by a 6:45 p.m. Finance Committee meeting in the same location.
Both meetings are open the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the city’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are stored.
