(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton City Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the Council Chambers at Riverton City Hall, 816 N. Federal Blvd.
The agenda includes a public hearing and council consideration of a restaurant liquor license for Taqueria Los Amigos Inc.
The council will also consider granting a hangar ground lease at Central Wyoming Regional Airport to Jerry Bornhoft.
Another public hearing will be held before the council considers adopting an ordinance on first reading incorporating a point-based enforcement framework into the city’s liquor license regulations.
A memo from staff says the proposed point system “provides a consistent and equitable means of determining penalties based on the severity and frequency of offenses.”
“In addition to clarifying point assignments, the ordinance formalizes procedures for notifying licensees of violations, requesting hearings, and appealing determinations before a hearing examiner or the governing body,” the memo states. “The ordinance also introduces a structured schedule of progressive penalties tied to the accumulation of points within a 12-month period. Penalties may range from written warnings and fines to license suspension or revocation, depending on the licensee’s compliance history and the nature of the violations.”
The council will hear an annual construction report, then convene into an executive session if needed before adjournment.
Tuesday’s meeting will be preceded by a 6:45 p.m. Finance Committee meeting in the same location.
Both meetings are open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the city’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are stored.
