The Riverton City Council will meet Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Riverton City Hall.
Among the issues discussed, will be the Habitually Intoxicated Ordinance. The potential ordinance was discussed at the September City Hall work session.
The initial documents in early September announced the proposed ordinance would make it “unlawful for any person to sell, or otherwise deliver to any habitual drunkard any alcoholic or malt beverage.” The language defining a “habitual drunkard” is a person who has been convicted of six or more criminal offenses through Riverton Municipal Court, in which the Riverton Municipal Judge determined that the person was found guilty of being under the influence of alcohol to a degree that they were a danger to themselves or others at the time of the commission of the crime.
New plans on how to deal with abandoned vehicles in the city and trailer parking restrictions for trailers 20′ or longer will also be discussed.
City Council meetings are open to the public.
