(Riverton, WY) – Riverton City Councilmember Rebecca Brothers has announced that she will be resigning from her elected position this summer when she relocates for a new job in Phoenix.
She shared the news during a Riverton City Council meeting Tuesday, expressing her commitment to continue “serving the people of Riverton until my responsibilities on the council end.”
“My family and I have loved living and working in Riverton,” Brothers said. “The relationships that I’ve built with students, families, and residents here have meant a great deal to me, (and) serving this city has truly been one of the greatest privileges and joys in my life.
“Riverton will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to work with you guys and everybody in the community.”
Mayor Tim Hancock thanked Brothers for her comments and noted that she “will be missed.”
“Keep us posted as we get close (to summer) and we’ll figure out where things go,” he said. “But (we) look forward to you continuing to serve.”
