(Cheyenne, WY) – Riverton’s Future Farmers of America stole the spotlight at the State Convention in Cheyenne this month.

Several local competitors were acknowledged among the top in the state. Both Dani Santee and Tosha Kenyon were named State Officers at the event as well. Santee as the State Secretary and Kenyon as the State Treasurer.

The many outstanding performances were highlighted by Riverton’s Horse Evaluation team. Madison Morgan, Samantha Floyd, Hadlee Hughes, Zach Thornock and Shahayla Suhn won the event’s grand championship. They’ll now prepare for a trip to the National FFA Competition in Indianapolis this October!

The Middle School Livestock Judging team also won a Grand Championship. Easton Bekken, Kayel Kuegeler, Halie Adams and Levi Jackson won three of the five categories to help claim the overall title.

Haylee Lavoie is the instructor of Riverton’s FFA team. Lavoie called it an, “extremely successful year” adding that she was, “so proud of them.”
