In a Thursday announcement via the Riverton Fire Department Facebook page, it appears that RFD has a brand new Fire Chief and awarded several other new promotions.
RFD held their annual elections Wednesday night and announced to the public Thursday that Henri DeClercq will take over as Riverton’s new Fire Chief.
Cory Higgs steps down from the position, after serving as Chief for the last two years.
Higgs said in an online statement, “It was a great experience. A lot of responsibility and work. I got to be the leader of a great team of men whose mission is saving lives and property and being in the brotherhood of courageous firefighters. I will forever be grateful for this life-changing experience.”
Promotions were also awarded to Brian Hutchins, who takes over as Assistant Fire Chief, new Treasurer Jessee Cassity, and new Secretary Jake Blumenshine.
