(Riverton, WY) – Riverton High School girls soccer had a successful week going 2-0 at home. On Tuesday, the Lady Wolverines blanked Evanston 4-0 and on Thursday, they’d upset second-ranked Jackson 2-1.
In the first half Thursday, Cami Paskett found the net via a Kimber Mathill assist with 30 minutes to go. Jackson answered, scoring at the 12:15 mark tying the game 1-1 until there were just 20 minutes remaining in the 2nd half. That’s when Timbree Mathill knocked in the eventual game winner via another Kimber Mathill assist.
The Lady Wolverines improve to 3-2-1 on the season so far and will hit the road for the next couple weeks. Head Coach Aziz Waheed leads Riverton to Afton on Saturday for a match-up against Star Valley. RHS then has road trips to Evanston and Rock Springs before returning home April 26th when they’ll take on Green River.
The Riverton boys went 1-1 this week, falling to Jackson 9-0 Thursday but defeating Evanston Tuesday 3-0. First-year Head Coach Dietrik Becker and the Wolverine boys are now 2-4 overall this season. The boys also visit Star Valley Saturday.
