(Fremont County, WY) – The 7th WyoPreps high school football rankings came out Wednesday morning, and for a 7th time Riverton is in the exact same spot.
Including the pre-season poll, the Wolverines are 3rd in class 3A football. Nipping at their heels in the rankings however, are cross-country rivals, Lander. The Tigers 5-0 start has them currently in the #4 class 3A spot. Of course, the two rivals meet in a head-to-head showdown this Friday night at 6:00 p.m. in Lander. Elsewhere in 3A, Star Valley and Cody remain #1 and #2. They also meet this week in Cody. Despite losing the last two, the Douglas Bearcats held on to the #5 spot. Jackson and Evanston received votes.
Dubois lost last week to #1 Little Snake River, but hang out on their #5 position in 1A 6-man football. Encampment ranks second with Burlington and Farson-Eden coming in 3rd and 4th. The Rams host Encampment this weekend in their second consecutive ranked contest.
Pine Bluffs is on top of the 1A 9-man rankings. Greybull is the only other team to receive first place votes. Big Horn and Mountain View continue to be 1 and 2 in 2A. And it’s no surprise, but Sheridan remains on top of class 4A with their unbeaten record again this year. Campbell County climbed to the second spot with Cheyenne East falling from 2nd to 3rd.
