(Riverton, WY) – Riverton man Tyler Riser pled “not guilty” at his arraignment hearing held before the Honorable Judge R. Michael Shickich in the U.S. District Court of Casper on March 25.
A jury trial has been scheduled for May 27.
Riser was initially charged with just felony distribution of methamphetamine after two individuals were seen leaving his residence and were later found to be in possession of methamphetamine they alleged to have received from Riser, according to the original federal complaint filed on February 20.
However, an indictment later filed on March 20 added the charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Riser pled “not guilty” to all charges at his arraignment, and the May 27 Jury Trial was set.
The maximum penalty for a felony methamphetamine distribution charge is 5-40 years imprisonment, a $5,000,000 fine, and no less than 4 years to life of supervised release.
The maximum penalty for a felony possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine charge is 10 years to life imprisonment, a $10,000,000 fine, and no less than 5 years to life of supervised release.
The maximum penalty for a felony conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine charge is 10 years to life imprisonment, a $10,000,000 fine, and no less than 5 years to life of supervised release.
The maximum penalty for a felony unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm charge is 15 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release.
The maximum penalty for a felony possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime charge is no less than 5 years to life consecutive imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and 5 years of supervised release.
