(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department has named the person of interest who was charged in relation to the deceased individual found in a Riverton hotel room over the weekend, where “foul play” was suspected, according to an update shared today, March 9.
“Riverton Detectives have charged 25-year-old Sterling Black of Riverton with the death of a Riverton woman,” the update states. “Officers responded to a local hotel early Saturday morning for a possible deceased person inside a hotel room. Officers located a deceased female victim inside the hotel room and detectives were notified.”
Black was ultimately charged with 2nd degree murder in connection with the woman’s death.
The Fremont County Coroner’s office will be releasing the identity of the victim. County 10 has submitted a request for a Coroner’s verdict and case docket, which can take up to a few weeks before being made available.
