According to a Riverton Police Department media release, officers were led on a short vehicle chase early Wednesday morning.
At 1:47 a.m. near the intersection of S. 12th E. and Main Street, an RPD officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation.
The driver, 35-year-old Robin Noriega of Riverton, allegedly refused to stop, leading the officers on a brief chase through a residential area.
The report was not specific as to how the motorist was eventually stopped, but officers did arrest Noriega.
He was accused of eluding police and careless driving. He was also cited for not having an “interlock device,” which are usually court ordered, having suspended driver’s license, and failure to stop at a stop sign.
