(Riverton, WY) – Riverton man Vurnon Doney was sentenced to 16-20 years of imprisonment for manslaughter at his sentencing hearing held on September 13.
The hearing was overseen by the Honorable Judge Jason Conder, with Patrick LeBrun representing the State, and Valerie Schoneberger acting as Defense.
Doney was charged with manslaughter in connection to the April 26 Riverton house fire that resulted in the death of 48-year-old Eve Newton.
Doney had 128 days credit for time already served, and there was no restitution in this case. The maximum sentence for a manslaughter charge is 20 years.
