Riverton Middle School staff and students were assisted by a handful of community volunteers Wednesday morning in assembling 250 holiday food bags.
RMS Principal Brant Nyberg explained, “there are some families that sometimes fall on hard times that can use a little extra, that’s what this project is all about. Just a little something to make the holiday that much better.”
Nybrerg continued, “It’s really an amazing thing. This town is awesome, it really helps out this time of year.”
He also thanked specifically Niki Tippits, who he said spearheaded the project, all of the community volunteers, and those who donated food or financially to the project.
Nyberg said this is year 8 of the food bag program and that they’ve filled roughly 3,000 bags over the years.
Riverton Middle School plans to have another food bag opportunity for students before Spring Break in March.
