The Riverton Museum has released its 2026 program schedule, featuring a full lineup of family events, history programs, community treks, and educational speakers designed to connect visitors with the rich history, culture, and natural heritage of Fremont County and the Wind River region.
The 2026 schedule includes returning favorites such as the Children’s Exploration Series, sponsored by Pit Stop/Bailey’s Tire & Auto; Wyoming Community Bank’s Discovery Speakers programs; and Adventure Treks, sponsored by Wind River Visitors Council; along with seasonal festivals and special presentations tied to local history, archaeology, paleontology, and western heritage.
Programs begin in May with the Draper Raptor Experience on May 30 and continue throughout the year with events for all ages.
Highlights of the 2026 season include:
- The Children’s Exploration Series featuring STEM, archaeology, and hands-on educational activities
- Discovery Speakers presentations on cowboy poetry, Riverton history, paleontology, film and history, hauntings, and wild horses
- Adventure Treks to locations such as Mountain View Cemetery, St. Stephens, Castle Gardens, Midvale Irrigation District sites, and Okie Manor
- Seasonal community events including Fall Fest and Holiday Fest
“This year’s schedule offers a little bit of everything,” said Riverton Museum Program
Coordinator, Anne Gebo. “Whether you are interested in local history, science, outdoor
exploration, or family activities, we hope these programs help people connect with the stories and places that make Fremont County unique.”
Several programs are free to attend, while Adventure Treks require registration and have a $15 per-person fee.
The Riverton Museum is located at 700 E. Park Avenue in Riverton. Summer hours
(April–September) are Sunday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Winter hours
(October–March) are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
