(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department’s 911 dispatch center is now fully staffed with the addition of new dispatcher Helen “Denise” Licea, who was sworn in during a Riverton City Council meeting Tuesday.
RPD Chief Eric Hurtado said Licea grew up in Los Angeles before moving to Las Vegas in 1996 and Idaho in 2011 to be near her family.
She logged more than 1 million miles as a long-haul truck driver before joining the RPD, he said, and during her “off-time” she enjoys gardening, raising farm animals and crafting.
“With Denise joining our force, we now have full staffing in our 911 dispatch center,” Hurtado said, adding that, at the next council meeting, he will have “an exciting update on our sworn officers and those positions.”
