All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Riverton, WY) – Riverton Police Department (RPD) officer Logan Alley has been charged with felony possession of a schedule III controlled substance, according to Court documents filed on August 23.
Alley faces this charge after it was determined that he had reportedly been ordering illegal steroids (namely Trenbolone Enanthate in liquid form) from an online distributor.
His initial appearance hearing has been set for September 11.
Back in May of this year, a United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) Inspector observed that an address in Riverton had received several “suspicious” parcels that were “associated with Darknet vendors and other controlled substance seizures,” Court documents state.
Law enforcement reportedly began monitoring the United States Postal Service (USPS) parcels being sent to that address, at which time it was noted that the recipient of the parcels and resident of the property was Alley, an at-the-time active duty RPD officer.
Court documents go on to state that on June 16, investigators became aware of another “suspicious” parcel being sent to Alley’s residence, which had a return address located in Las Vegas.
The parcel was intercepted in Wyoming by the USPIS Inspector after agents obtained a Federal search warrant.
On June 20, investigators executed the search warrant on the parcel, where they discovered approximately 60 generic Cialis tablets in two separate packages, which were labeled as containing 25mg of Tadalafil, a “prescription-only substance similar to testosterone.”
The tablets were placed into evidence storage, and the investigators then met with the Riverton Police Chief and Captain to brief them on the situation.
Investigators informed the Chief that they suspected more parcels of steroids were scheduled to be delivered to Alley the following day, and that they would like to meet with him.
The Chief and the Captain then arranged for Alley to come in early for his shift later that day, Court documents continue, and during this conversation it was determined he would be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Alley went on to agree to a non-custodial interview, where he asked “if this was a criminal investigation,” to which he was informed that it was, and that investigators knew he had another parcel set to be delivered the next day.
During the course of the interview, Alley reportedly admitted to purchasing various steroids from a website “that he believed was US based,” and advised that investigators could open the second parcel, where they would find vials of Testosterone and Trenbolone that were for “personal use.”
When asked if he knew this was illegal, Alley reportedly stated “maybe not to the extent,” but that he was “not going to act stupid.” He then confirmed he had not sold or provided any of the substances to anyone.
Alley also told investigators that he had not used the steroids while on duty, and that his overall use had not “adversely affected” his performance at work.
Alley then let the agents log into his account on the website where he ordered the steroids, which showed a shipment history of additional, similar transactions.
The previously mentioned shipment that was scheduled for the next day, June 21, was ultimately intercepted as well, which contained four vials labeled “ROID PHARM Trenbolone Enanthate (250mg/mL) and “ROID PHARM Super test (400mg/mL).”
The substances later tested presumptive positive after being sent to the Wyoming State Crime Lab, and Court documents conclude by stating that “the amount of controlled substance at issue in this case is in excess of 3/10 of a gram in liquid form.”
A possession of Trenbolone Enanthate (in liquid form) felony charge holds a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
Alley’s initial appearance hearing has been set for September 11.
