(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Raiders have announced they have the opportunity to host the American Legion State Tournament for “Class B” teams July 16-20 at Roy Peck Field.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our team, our organization, and our community,” a post on their Facebook page announces. “We’re calling on all Raiders families, fans, and local businesses to help us make this tournament one to remember!”
Eight different teams from across the state will qualify for the tournament. The Raiders organization pointed out that not only will this be a fun chance to watch some extra baseball but it will be a boost for the local economy. “With up to 12 players on each roster, plus coaches and families. This is our chance to showcase the amazing community we all call home.” The event will coincide with the 46th annual Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally and Rocky Mountain Rebels Car Show weekend.
The Raiders placed a call for community volunteers to help sponsor, give their time or provide donations for this event. Sponsorship opportunities are available at many levels or if you’d like to give of your time, they’re looking for helpers of all abilities. They’re also hoping for donations of bottled water, Gatorade and individually wrapped snacks for players.
