(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West in Riverton.
The agenda for the meeting begins with the consent agenda, which includes the adoption of the following policies on second reading: amended Policy 5115 “Certified, Licensed Professional, and Professional Staff Advertising, Recruiting and Hiring;” Policy 5085 “District Staff Fringe Benefits;” and Policy 5095 “District Staff Short-Term Leaves.”
During the round table portion of the meeting, the board will hear two trip debriefs – from Kelli Gard and students about FCCLA Nationals and from Becca Pierson and students about Speech and Debate Nationals.
Under action items, the board will consider adopting the following policies on first reading: Policy 5100 “Family and Medical Leave;” Policy 3210 “Meal Charge;” and Policy 1056 “Firearms: Personnel Authorized to Carry.”
The board will also consider accepting the Perkins Career and Technical Education Professional Development Grant for $12,000 for the 2025-2026 school year.
The agenda indicates that the funds will be used toward expenses to attend the ACTE CTE Vision Conference for CTE Teachers.
Other action items on the agenda include:
- accept a resignation from Riverton Middle School Assistant Cross Country Coach David Collins
- offer contracts to Riverton High School Assistant Girls Swim Coach David Collins, RMS Assistant 7th Grade Football Coach Bradley Eliason, and RMS Assistant Cross Country Coach Cameron Roberson
Information items on the agenda include a $500 donation from Hal Herron to the Riverton Aquatic Center, a donation of two electric pottery wheels to the RHS Art Department from Joy Jones, and classified staff changes.
The meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are also stored.
