(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West in Riverton.
The consent agenda includes an amended policy on second reading regarding early notification of intent to resign or retire.
During the roundtable discussion, the board will hear from CWC-BOCHES Program Director Mathew Johnson, and Yvonne Thornley and Kari Oeser-Gray will discuss a Math Recovery Conference.
The board will consider approving the 2025-2026 CWC-BOCHES budget later in the meeting.
A public forum will be held regarding proposed 2026-2027 school calendar options before the board considers two out-of-state travel requests: one for Riverton High School FFA students to travel to Indianapolis in October for the National FFA Convention, and another for the RHS Multicultural Club to travel to Salt Lake City in June for a University Tour and Lagoon trip.
The board will consider adopting the school calendar later in the meeting.
The board will also consider adopting five policies on first reading Tuesday: Policy 4116 “Non-School Sponsored Student Travel,” Policy 2065 “Procurement Policy and Procedures,” Policy 4085 “Homeschooling,” Policy 4085-R “Homeschooling,” and Policy 3220 “Sex Designated Facilities.”
Other action items on the agenda include:
- award a $25,960 bid for an IP Address Management Project to ConvergeOne
- accept the resignations of Jesse Cornejo as a Riverton Middle School Head Boys Basketball Coach, Michelle Steinhoff-Anderson as a Riverton Middle School Assistant Track Coach, Phil Orbell as a Riverton Middle School Assistant Track Coach, and Annette Benn Thornton as a Riverton High School Assistant Speech & Debate Coach effective immediately.
- offer contracts to Molly Thornton-Bergin as a part-time Riverton Middle School Musical Theatre Teacher, Valerie Crippen as a Rendezvous Elementary SPED Teacher, Kimber Tower as a part-time Riverton High School Choir Teacher, Ross Anderson as a Riverton Middle School Head Football Coach, Bret Hoover as a Riverton Middle School Head Boys Basketball Coach, Faith Wallowing Bull as a Riverton Middle School Head Cross Country Coach, David Collins as a Riverton Middle School Assistant Track Coach, Adysan Thomas as a Riverton Middle School Assistant Track Coach, and Justen Miller as a Riverton Middle School Assistant Track Coach all effective for the 2025-2026 school year
Under information items, the board will hear about new policy 5312 “Classified Staff as Coaches,” New Policy 2080-R2 “Compensation Non Exempt Staff Travel,” Revised Policy 4115 “School Sponsored Field Trips and Activities,” and Revised Policy 4115-R “Field Trip Procedures.”
The board will also hear about certified staff changes and a $1,000 donation from Injury Prevention for the Aspen Elementary Activity Account.
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are also stored.
