Riverton School Board to consider proposed Aquatic Center fee increase during regular meeting Tuesday

(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West in Riverton.

The agenda for the meeting includes a special celebration honoring Teacher of the Year recipients.

The board will also hear from Building and Grounds Supervisor Ed McPherson and hold a public forum to take comments and discuss school calendars.

The board will consider adopting district calendars later in the meeting.

Another action item on the agenda is an administrative recommendation to approve a proposed Riverton Aquatic Center fee adjustment.

A memo from staff says Colton Pollard is recommending the following fee adjustments beginning July 1 “to help reduce operating costs while maintaining community access.”

The updated fee structure would also require district staff to pay admission to use the pool, the staff report states.

Other action items on the agenda include:

• accept the Wyoming Department of Education Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant 
• declare the Riverton High School bleacher wood and the gym floor sections as surplus and make them available to the public for a fee and a bid process for designated pieces of the floor
• award the Career Center Make Up Air Units Remove and Replace Project to Sweetwater Aire of Lander
• accept a resignation from Thomas Jassman as RHS principal
• accept resignations from Jessalyn Meeks as RHS Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, Joy Pettit as RHS Business Teacher, and Blaze Sand as Riverton Middle School Head Seventh grade Girls Basketball Coach
• offer contracts to Heather Wynne as Aspen Elementary Teacher, Taylorae Kuegeler as Aspen Elementary Teacher, Shannon Carruth as Willow Creek Elementary Computer Science/Library Teacher, Kassandra Brainard as Aspen Elementary SPED Case Manager, Jordan Christensen as RHS Head Volleyball Coach, Taylor Bascue as RHS Counselor, Rachel Rapp as RHS Business Teacher, and Jenae Nicholson as Rendezvous Elementary Teacher

Information items on the agenda include upcoming events, a revised policy on data privacy and security, a Homebound and District Placement Special Education Teacher job description, certified staff changes, and enrollment.

The board will convene into an executive session for personnel before adjournment. 

Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are also stored.
