Riverton School Board to hear middle school update during Tuesday meeting

(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West in Riverton.

The agenda for the meeting includes a trip debrief from Annette Benn Thornton and local thespian students.

The board will also hear a Riverton Middle School update from Aziz Waheed and Brady Slack and a report on the district’s facility use and fee structure from Max Mills.

Under action items, the board will consider administrative recommendations to approve two out of state travel requests – one for the Riverton High School American Heritage students to travel to Boston and New York in March, and another for the RMS eighth grade band students to travel to Layton, Utah, in May for Music in the Parks.

The board will also consider administrative recommendations to accept grants, funds, and resignations.

Under information items, trustees will learn that RHS will move its Wednesday, Jan. 14, early out to Friday, Jan. 16, to accommodate a speech meet. 

The board will also review Policy 4115 Revised “School Sponsored Field Trips and Activities,” Policy 1190 Revised “Participation at Board Meetings,” and Policy 6137 Revised “Treatment of Head Lice.”

Other information items include notifications of 10-day drop students, classified staff changes, and enrollment.

• Policy 6100-R(1) “Student Activities and Organizations – Proposal and Approval Process”
• Facility Use and Fee Structure

The board will convene into an executive session for personnel – superintendent evaluation – before adjournment.
