Riverton School Board to host Frontier Academy graduation for six students during regular meeting Tuesday

(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West. 

The agenda includes a Frontier Academy graduation for Makenna Raye Evans, Cheyenne Lee Hansey, Marcos Martinez Jr., Moriah Jo Ellen Miller, Kaelyn Rae Post, Mason Dean Spoonhunter. 

The board will also hear from Rebecca Pierson and the Model Arab League Competition students and Transportation Supervisor Tracy Shepardson before adjourning into a closed-door executive session regarding personnel.

Action items on the agenda include:

• a $1,000 Qatar Foundation International Classroom Enrichment Grant for students to travel to Laramie to compete at the Model Arab League Competition
• an $8,770 change order for the Riverton High School Auditorium Project
• amended policies regarding field trip budget requests, animals in schools, and district sick leave bank on first reading
• resignations from Frontier Academy Social Worker Nicole Schoening and RHS Agriculture/Welding Teacher Magdelene Legarda effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year
• contracts for Riverton Middle School Math Teacher Wendy Pratt, Aspen Elementary Third Grade Teacher Aydria Ladd, and Willow Creek Kindergarten Teacher Madyson Dolcater
• contracts for school administrators 

Under information items, the board will hear about a stipulated agreement that has been violated and moved to an expulsion.

The board will also discuss a memorandum of understanding with the Fremont County Prevention Program and review the Special Education Academic Coordinator job description, certified and classified staff changes, and enrollment information.

The meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are stored.
