(Fremont County, WY) – The week one WyoPreps.com Coaches & Media football rankings have been released and Riverton remains the lone ranked Fremont County team.
Riverton knocked off previously #5 Powell last Friday 52-14, booting the Panthers out of the 3A top five. Star Valley remains a unanimous #1 in class 3A while Cody, this week’s Riverton opponent, comes in at #2. Riverton claims the #3 rank for a second week in a row. Douglas holds steady at #4 and newly into the poll this week are the Jackson Broncs. JHS defeated a team from Temecula, California in their zero week contest.
Dubois received a few more votes in the 1A 6-man rankings, but are just out of the top five. Little Snake River continues to be the unanimous pick for number one overall.
Four voters picked Shoshoni in the top five, however they did not receive enough votes for a ranked spot in 1A 9-man. Pine Bluffs took 10 of 14 first place votes, while Saratoga and Lingle-Fort Laramie each received 2 first place votes.
Class 2A is led by the Big Horn Rams with Mountain View and Lovell following closely behind. Sheridan remains a near unanimous #1 in class 4A, but 2nd rated Cheyenne East picked up one first place vote. Natrona County, Campbell County and Cheyenne Central round out the 4A top five.
