The Riverton City Council meeting this week will be on a rare Wednesday, since their regular meeting day, Tuesday, is New Year’s Day.
On January 2nd, Riverton’s new Mayor, Richard P. Gard will take the oath of office as will new Ward 2 City Councilwoman Karla Borders.
Current Mayor, John “Lars” Baker will also be recognized for his time in office by City Administrator Tony Tolstedt. Borders will take over the spot currently held by Lance Goede, who was honored at a meeting in late December.
The Mayor and council will also appoint a municipal court judge, alternate judge, and city attorney. Designation of official depositories and details about a grant in support of a meat processing facility will also be discussed.
Wednesday’s meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, seating is limited.
