UPDATE: According to the Dec. 18 call logs issued by the FCSO and RPD, the collision involved a dump truck and a passenger car. Multiple injuries were reported, and the fire department was called for extraction. There is no indication of any fatalities related to the crash. Additionally, a subject on-scene at the crash later reached out to County 10 to clarify that it was a “rear-end” crash not a “head-on,” and that it was an “International flatbed truck,” not a “dump truck,” as indicated by the call logs mentioned above. At this time, RPD has not responded to an information request from County 10.

UPDATE: (6 PM) WYDOT has shared that all lanes in the area are currently blocked. “WY789: Crash, all lanes blocked near Riverton at milepost 109, Be prepared to stop, expect delays.”
(Riverton, WY) – A “major traffic collision” has been reported in the area of Highway 789 and Burma Road, according to a post shared on the Riverton Police Department Facebook page about 15 minutes ago (5:40 PM).
The post states there are several injuries from a reported head-on collision, and to yield to emergency vehicles responding to the scene.
