The Casper Star Tribune is reporting that a federal judge has ruled Wyoming’s law that bans the use of robocalls by political organizations, unconstitutional.
The ruling came down Monday in U.S. District Court by Judge Alan Johnson.
The ruling sided with Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Victory Processing. They use automated an automated phone calling system for political information and advertising.
Johnson said the state’s ban was restrictive because it prevents political speech.
In Febraury, another federal judge upheld Montana’s law against robocalls which is contested by the same Michigan-based company.
The ruling comes just days before Wyoming’s August 21st primary election.
