Lander, WY – New this year for Lander Pioneer Days Rodeo contestants: There will be
increased payouts of $20,000 added to the 131st Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days Rodeo,
known as “The World’s Oldest Paid Rodeo,” held July 3rd and 4th in Lander, Wyoming.
All rodeo contestants need to enter Saturday, June 21 between 12-5 p.m. by calling in their entries to the Lander Old Timer’s Rodeo Association (LOTRA) phone numbers: 307-349-8070, 307-349-8108, and 307-349-1981. Contestants will be registered in the order in which they call on a first-come, first-served basis. More information is available at

For rodeo roughstock and steer wrestling contestants, $1,000 of added money will be
paid out each night. Also new is the Women’s Ranch Bronc Riding event! Contestants
for this women’s roughstock event, along with Men’s Ranch Bronc Riding, Bull Riding,
Saddle and Bareback Bronc Riding, and Steer Wrestling, will be competing for the added money July 3 and July 4. The Men’s and Women’s Indian Relay Races also have $1000 added money each night, plus $500 added for the Youth Indian Relay Race. Stock Contractors are Dam Bucking Horses for Rough Stock, Hoggan & Sutton Rodeo for Timed Event Stock, and Jace Mitchell for Steer Riding & Mini Bulls.
Rodeo fans can purchase convenient online tickets now at LOTRA.org to avoid the lines at the rodeo. Tickets will also be sold at four rodeo ticket booths on July 3 and 4 at the rodeo grounds entrance gates. Online and gate tickets are Adult-$20.00, Child (ages 6-12)-$10.00, with children 5 and under free.
Discounted pre-sale tickets for adults and kids will only be available at the Lander Chamber of Commerce and at the following local merchants: Lander Ace Hardware, First Interstate Bank (Lander), and the Lander Parks & Rec Dept. Discounted tickets are Adult-$18.00, Child (ages 6-12)-$8.00, children 5 and under are free.
