UPDATE: As of about 4 PM, RPD Chief Eric Hurtado confirmed the following with County 10.
“We responded to a home near E Main and N 13th Street for a family disturbance. Officers received a report of a male person armed with a handgun and was barricaded inside the home. The subject refused to surrender to officers. Law enforcement from FCSO, WHP and FCSO K-9 units responded to the scene. Streets in the area were temporarily closed until the gunman surrendered. Police are still on scene and the streets around the crime scene will be closed off while investigators continue to investigate.”
Chief Hurtado added that the suspect is in custody, and that more information will be released shortly.
