(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department (RPD) has shared that there have been reports of scam calls recently, according to an August 16 post on the RPD Facebook page.
“We have been made aware of a scam to a local business advising they are a Deputy or Captain with the “Detention Center,”” the post states.
The scammers then go on to request bond money for an employee that has “been arrested and in their custody.”
“They were able to describe one of their employees and were very convincing,” the post also warns.
