(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department (RPD) recently shared that a scam attempt was thwarted thanks to a local gas station attendant, and is advising folks to be wary of similar scam attempts.
“We want to inform the public about fraud attempts targeting seniors in our area, explicitly involving issues related to Microsoft, Bitcoin, local banks, and gas stations,” the RPD shared on their Facebook page on March 24.
“We sincerely appreciate the dedicated attendant at Loaf N’ Jug, who promptly alerted the Riverton Police Department. Their vigilance and quick action were crucial in preventing a community member from falling victim to these scams and potentially losing thousands of dollars.”
The RPD urges folks to “remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”
