Many areas of Wyoming, including a few spots of Fremont County, could see a fresh coat of snowfall Christmas Eve or Christmas day. Accumulations are expected to remain low in most areas, gusty winds however could create hazardous road conditions.
Santa’s sleigh should have no difficulty navigating this small storm. One of our North Pole sources told County 10 that Santa joked with his staff, “It’s that Casper wind that really takes it out of the reindeer.”
The National Weather Service office in Riverton has released the following statements and forecasts…
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Western and Central Wyoming. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Light snow over the western mountains late tonight. Strong gusty winds could return to the Casper area late tonight as well. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Christmas Eve through Sunday Christmas Eve and Christmas Day...Snow will continue over the western mountains during the day Christmas Eve, spreading to southern portions Christmas Eve night. These chances will be reduced on Christmas, with a slight chance of snow for various portions east of the Divide during the day Christmas. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather spotters are encouraged today to report significant weather conditions according to standard operating procedures.
