(Riverton, WY) – Seven local high school seniors have applied for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming’s Foundation Education Award, a one-time scholarship of up to $2,000 that supports students in their pursuit of higher education. Award will be announced during the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton’s 5th Annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast on April 23rd.
Applicants include: Evan Stockman, Ellanie Forbis, Katelynn Lemley, Haiden Harding, Aurora Pate, Rory Johnson, and Emma Hill.
Students from Riverton High School and Frontier Academy wrote essays on their Laws of Life. Each recipient’s essay reflects the personal values and guiding principles that shape their path forward. The Education Award will be paid directly to the learning institution of the recipient’s choice.
The breakfast will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Fremont Center. Doors open at 6:15 a.m., breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m. There is no cost to attend, though guests will be invited to make a meaningful contribution in support of the Club’s $510,000 annual operating budget. This year’s honoree is Mary Axthelm, recognized for her decades of service to Riverton’s youth and her key role in launching the Boys & Girls Club in 2020. Keynote speaker Rocky Bleier, a Vietnam War veteran and four-time Super Bowl champion, will share his inspiring journey of resilience, aligning with the event’s theme, “Leading the Way.”
“Whether it’s providing a safe place to learn and grow, mentoring future leaders, or ensuring kids have the support they need to succeed, the Club is leading the way for youth in Riverton and beyond,” said Ashley Bright, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming.
